Okay, so I’ve been using this Lululemon yoga mat for a while now, and let me tell you, it was getting kinda gross. Time for a good cleaning, right? I did some digging online and found a few different ways to make a DIY cleaner, so I decided to give it a shot.
First, I gathered my supplies. I grabbed a spray bottle, some white vinegar, water, and a few drops of tea tree essential oil because I heard it’s good for fighting bacteria. Plus, it smells pretty good, which is a nice bonus.
- Step 1: Mixed up the cleaning solution. I poured 1 cup of water and 1/4 cup of white vinegar into the spray bottle.
- Step 2: Added about 5 drops of tea tree oil. I just eyeballed it, you know?
- Step 3: Gave the bottle a good shake to make sure everything was mixed well.
Then came the fun part. I sprayed down my yoga mat with the mixture, making sure to get all the areas where my hands and feet usually go. I let it sit for a minute or two, and then I wiped it down with a clean cloth.
After that, I rinsed the cloth with just water and wiped the mat down again, just to get rid of any leftover vinegar smell. The tea tree oil did a good job of masking it, though.
Finally, I laid the mat out flat to air dry. It took a little while, but once it was dry, it looked so much better! And it smelled way fresher, too. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. This DIY cleaner is definitely a keeper. I’ll probably do this every couple of weeks to keep my mat in good shape. This homemade cleaner worked like a charm!
