Okay, so, I’ve been getting really into yoga lately, and I gotta say, it’s been a game-changer. I’ve been following along with these videos online, Yoga with Adriene. She’s great, super chill and explains things well. But, I realized pretty quickly that doing yoga on my old, kinda crappy mat wasn’t cutting it.
So, I started looking into getting a new one. I mean, Adriene always seems to have a nice one in her videos, so I figured I should invest in a good one, too. That’s where my little adventure began.
First, I spent hours, and I mean hours, watching reviews and reading articles about different yoga mats. I got so deep in the rabbit hole, I’d look up and realized I’d been comparing mat thickness for an hour. Not even joking. This is important stuff, people!
I saw that Adriene actually partnered with this company, Manduka, to make some mats. They looked really nice, two-toned and all that. But they were kinda pricey. I saw a two-tone one in rock or charcoal color. That was cool, but I wasn’t sure if I wanted to drop that much cash right away.
Then, I read about other brands, like Lululemon and Jade. People were saying great things about them. Someone even mentioned they had a Jade mat for six years and it was still going strong. That’s some serious durability! It’s made of natural rubber and really doesn’t slip at all. That sounded amazing.
I learned that a standard mat is usually about 1/8-inch thick, which is good for a more, you know, “flowing” practice. Makes sense. You want to be able to move around without your mat getting in the way.
After all that research, I decided to go with the Manduka Prolite. It seemed like a good balance of quality and price. And guess what? It’s reversible! Different colors and textures on each side. I can practice on both sides, which is kind of cool.
- Watched a ton of yoga mat reviews.
- Learned about Adriene’s partnership with Manduka.
- Considered other brands like Lululemon and Jade.
- Learned about the thickness of yoga mats.
- Finally bought a Manduka Prolite.
I’ve been using it for a few weeks now, and I’m really happy with it. It’s got a good grip, it’s comfortable, and it makes my practice feel so much better. This mat really supports my body, enhances my practice, just like what Adriene said. So yeah, finding the right yoga mat took some time and effort, but it was totally worth it. Now I’m just wondering how much she is making with her yoga channel. I read that it can be 2 million just for ads. That’s wild.
Anyway, now I can do my downward dogs and warriors with confidence! It’s the little things, right?
