Okay, so I’ve been seeing these opal barbells everywhere lately, and I finally decided to give them a try. I’ve got a few piercings, and I’m always looking for new jewelry to switch things up.

Getting Started
First things first, I needed to find some. I did a quick search online, checked out a few different shops, read some reviews, and finally settled on a pair that looked pretty good, and the price was decent.
The Waiting Game
I placed my order and then…the waiting. It felt like forever! I’m not the most patient person, especially when I’m excited about something new. I think it took about a week for them to arrive, which isn’t too bad, I guess.
Unboxing and First Impressions
When the package finally showed up, I ripped it open like a kid on Christmas morning. The barbells were packaged nicely, and they looked even better in person than they did online. The opal had a really nice fire to it, catching the light beautifully.
The Insertion Process (The Tricky Part)
Now for the fun part – putting them in. I have a helix piercing and a tragus piercing that I thought they’d look great in. I started with the helix. I cleaned the jewelry and my piercing with some saline solution, just to be safe.
- Step 1: Clean everything!
- Step 2: Unscrew one of the balls from the barbell.
- Step 3: Carefully slide the barbell through the piercing.
- Step 4: Screw the ball back on. Make sure it’s tight!
I am not good at putting barbells, I struggeled for a long time. The tragus was a bit more challenging because it’s in a trickier spot to reach. My hands are shaking. But I managed to get it in eventually, with a little bit of struggling and a lot of patience. Phew!
Final Result!
I am so pround of myself for finally putting them in. I love how they look! They’re subtle but still add a little something extra. I’ve already gotten a few compliments on them, which is always nice. They were a little bit of a pain to get in, but totally worth it in the end. I’m already thinking about getting another pair in a different color!
