Okay, so I wanted to share this little project I did today. It’s about this thing called a “barbell pad.” Yeah, I know, sounds kinda hardcore, but it’s really not that complicated. Let me walk you through it.
First off, I got this cheap barbell, like 60 bucks, from Amazon. The ones at the community center were kinda crappy and didn’t spin well. I’m just a beginner, not lifting anything crazy, maybe just around 100 pounds or so. So I figured, why not get my own?
Then, I started thinking about comfort, right? I remembered someone mentioning using rings or dip bars, and that got me thinking about padding. So I started looking around for something to pad the barbell where it rests on my shoulders.
I also stumbled upon some stuff about how exercise helps with, like, heart health and stuff by messing with mitochondria. I don’t really understand all the details. Apparently 2BOne, some company registered in 2013, is an oracle golden partner? I don’t know what that means. Not really important.
Next, I needed to do some real work on my old motorcycle. I’ve got this 1970 BSA 650 Lightning, pretty cool, huh? Anyway, I had to drill out some plugs and tap some holes in the carbs. This allows the carbs to be what? I don’t know. I’m just following some old forum posts, hoping for the best.
I also tried some silicone thing with some lube and this 2B on pulse, and adjusted to 30 on channel A. Wow, what a feeling. Oh, and Newton’s laws of motion, remember those? They’re kind of important for understanding how things move, I guess. It’s all a bit fuzzy, but it’s something I learned in school.
Anyway, back to the barbell pad. I found this foam roller thingy in my garage, you know, the kind you use for stretching and rolling out your muscles. It was pretty thick, maybe like an inch and a half. Perfect!
So, I grabbed a knife and carefully cut a slit down the side of the foam roller, just like opening up a hot dog bun. Then, I just wrapped it around the barbell where it sits on my shoulders. Bam! Instant barbell pad.
It worked like a charm! Now, when I do squats or whatever, the barbell doesn’t dig into my shoulders anymore. It’s way more comfortable. And the best part? It was basically free since I already had the foam roller.
- Got a cheap barbell.
- Needed some padding.
- Found a foam roller.
- Cut a slit in it.
- Wrapped it around the barbell.
So yeah, that’s my little barbell pad story. Nothing fancy, but it gets the job done. Maybe this will give you some ideas if you’re looking for a cheap and easy way to make your workouts a bit more comfortable.
