Alright, so I decided to give this bennd yoga mat a try. Heard some chatter, figured why not, always looking for something decent to practice on.

Got it delivered pretty quick. Pulled it out of the box. First thing I noticed, it was rolled up tight. Took a bit of effort to get it unfurled the first time. It had that new mat smell, you know? Not terrible, but definitely noticeable. Let it air out for a day or so, seemed to help.
First Practice Session
Okay, time to actually use the thing. Laid it down on my usual spot on the floor. Seemed flat enough, didn’t curl up too much at the edges after that initial unrolling struggle. Stepped onto it. Felt… okay. Not super plush, but definitely had some cushion. Better than the floor, for sure.
Went through my usual routine. Downward dog – this is always the test, right? My hands stayed put. Pretty good grip, I gotta say. Didn’t feel like I was gonna slide forward. Moved through some lunges, warrior poses. The mat stayed in place on the floor too, which is important. Hate it when the whole thing shifts around.
It wasn’t super thick, so for stuff where my knee was down, I could feel the floor a bit more than with some other mats I’ve used. Not painful, just… noticeable. Something to keep in mind if you need loads of padding.
Using it More
Been using the bennd mat for a couple of weeks now, maybe three or four times a week. The smell is gone, which is good. The grip is still holding up. Even when I get a bit sweaty, my hands and feet don’t slip much. That’s a big plus for me.
Cleaning it is simple enough. Just wiped it down with a damp cloth after practice. Seems to dry reasonably fast. Haven’t seen any weird wear marks or peeling yet, but it’s still early days. It feels durable enough for regular home use, I think.

- Grip: Solid, even when a bit sweaty.
- Cushion: It’s there, but on the thinner side.
- Smell: Had one initially, but aired out.
- Durability: Seems okay so far.
So yeah, that’s been my experience with the bennd yoga mat. It does the job. The grip is probably its strongest point. It’s not fancy, doesn’t have bells and whistles, but it works for my daily practice. Gets a thumbs up from me for now. We’ll see how it holds up long term.
