Alright, so I’ve been hitting the gym for a while now, and I decided it was time to step up my home workout game. I grabbed this 55-100 lb dumbbell set, and let me tell you, it’s been a game-changer.
First off, I started browsing online, looking at all sorts of brands. I saw some big names out there like Bowflex and PowerBlock, and some others I hadn’t heard of. They all seemed pretty good, but I wanted to make sure I got something that would last. I mean, these things aren’t cheap, so I figured I’d better do my research.
I knew I needed a set that could handle a bunch of different exercises. I’m talking curls, rows, kickbacks, you name it. I also wanted something adjustable because, let’s be real, my strength is all over the place depending on the exercise. One of my friends mentioned this ProsourceFit set that’s both a dumbbell and a barbell, which sounded pretty cool, but I was looking for a traditional dumbbell set this time.
Choosing the Weight
Figuring out the right weight was a whole other thing. I read somewhere that beginners should start with a set that goes up to 30 lbs, but I’m no beginner. I’ve been lifting for a bit, so I knew I needed something heavier. Eventually, I settled on a set that ranges from 5 to 55 lbs. They were individual pieces though, which would take up a lot of space. I went ahead and got an adjustable set instead.
I came across a pretty sweet adjustable set. It goes from 2KG to 32KG in 2KG steps. It adds up to 64KG total, and adjusting the weight is super easy – just a twist of the handle. I was also a little worried about accuracy because I heard some cheaper dumbbells can be off by a pound or more. The store clerk said it’s more expensive, but you get what you pay for.
After getting them home, I’ve been using these dumbbells for everything. I use them for toning my arms and shoulders and definitely for building some muscle. I still go to the gym, but having these at home has been great for those days when I just can’t make it out or when I want to squeeze in a quick workout.
So yeah, that’s my story about getting these dumbbells. It was a bit of a process, but I’m really happy with what I ended up with. They’re solid, they feel good in my hands, and they’re definitely helping me reach my fitness goals. I’d for sure recommend anyone else looking into getting dumbbells to take your time, do your research, and get a set that fits your needs.
