So, I decided it was time to get some serious weights at home. I’d been messing around with resistance bands and those adjustable dumbbells, but I wanted the real deal – a solid set of bulk dumbbells. Here’s how it all went down.

The Hunt Begins
First, I hit up some local stores. You know, the big sporting goods places. I checked out their selection, but honestly, it was pretty slim pickings. Either they had a few random weights, or they wanted an arm and a leg for a full set. Plus, I hate dealing with salespeople hover.
Going Online
Next, I started digging around online. I looked at a bunch of different websites, comparing prices and trying to figure out what was a good deal. It was a bit overwhelming, to be honest. So many options, so many different brands, and the prices were all over the place.
Making a Decision
I finally narrowed it down to a few choices. I focused on getting a set that would cover a good range of weights, from light to pretty heavy.
I also prioritize getting rubber-coated dumbbells because I don’t want to messing up my floors.
- Rubber coated
- Hex shape (so they don’t roll away)
- A decent price per pound
The Purchase
After a lot of back and forth, I finally pulled the trigger and ordered a set. I went with a set that had pairs from 5 pounds all the way up to 50 * will be enough for my current need.

Delivery Day
The delivery day finally arrived. The delivery guy probably hated me because those boxes were heavy. I helped him unload them, and then I spent the next hour getting everything set up in my home gym(Just a small corner of a room).
The Result
Now, I’ve got a sweet setup. I can hit all the major muscle groups with different weights, and I don’t have to mess with those annoying adjustable dumbbells anymore. It was a bit of a process, but totally worth it in the end. I am pumped.
