Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another one of my little experiments. So, I’ve been getting more and more into yoga lately, trying to find that inner peace and flexibility, you know? And I realized my old yoga mat was, well, kinda gross and definitely not doing the environment any favors. So I thought, why not try out one of those organic cotton yoga mats I’ve been hearing about?
First off, I spent like two days just scrolling and looking for options. I wanted something that felt good, wouldn’t slip around, and most importantly, was made of organic cotton. I finally found a few that looked promising and decided on one that had some pretty decent reviews.
When the mat arrived, I opened it up right away. First impression? It felt super soft, a lot different from those plasticky ones. It did not have any plastic smell.
- The feel test: I laid it out on my living room floor and just kind of rolled around on it. It was definitely comfy, no weird scratchy feeling or anything.
- The grip test: This was important. I did a few downward dogs and other poses to see if I’d slide around. I was actually surprised at how well it gripped, even when I started to get a bit sweaty during the hot yoga test.
- The sweat test: I did a full-on hot yoga session to see how it held up when things got really sweaty. I placed the smooth side down on the floor. It absorbed the sweat pretty well, and I didn’t feel like I was slipping at all.
My testing process
After using it for a few weeks now, I gotta say, I’m pretty happy with my organic cotton yoga mat. It’s comfy, it’s got good grip, and I feel good knowing it’s not terrible for the planet.
If you’re thinking about making the switch, I’d say go for it. Just make sure you do your research and find one that suits your needs. You might be surprised at how much of a difference it makes in your practice!
Alright, that’s it for this little experiment. Catch you guys in the next one!
