I gotta say, I hit the gym today and went for it with those 45 lb barbell plates. I’ve been using them for a while now, so I thought I’d share my experience and how it’s been going.
Warming Up
First off, I started with some light cardio to get the blood flowing. A quick 5 minutes on the treadmill did the trick. Then, I moved on to some dynamic stretches, you know, arm circles, leg swings, the usual. Gotta make sure those muscles are ready for action.
The Main Event
I loaded up the bar with those 45 lb plates. Man, they feel heavy! But that’s what we want, right? I focused on my core lifts:
- Bench press: I started my routine with the bench press. Laying my back on the bench, making sure it’s stable. Then, took a deep breath, gripped the bar, and pushed it up. Did 3 sets of 8 reps. Felt the burn in my chest and triceps.
- Squats: Next up, squats. I positioned the bar across my upper back, took a comfortable stance, and squatted down. Kept my back straight and my core tight. Another 3 sets of 8 reps here. My legs were shaking by the end!
- Deadlifts: Last but not least, deadlifts. This one’s a full-body workout. I bent down, grabbed the bar, and lifted with my legs, not my back. You really feel this one everywhere. I managed 3 sets of 6 reps.
Cooling Down
After that grind, I made sure to cool down properly. Some static stretches, holding each one for about 30 seconds. Focused on my chest, legs, and back. It’s super important to stretch after lifting heavy, helps with recovery and all that.
Feeling the Effects
I’ve been consistently using these 45 lb plates for a while now, and I gotta say, I’m feeling stronger. My lifts have improved, and I can see the difference in my physique. It’s not just about the weight, but also the consistency and proper form. That’s what really makes the difference.
So, that’s my routine with the 45 lb plates. It’s tough, but it’s worth it. Keep pushing, keep lifting, and you’ll see the results. Stay strong, folks!
