Okay, so I finally decided to get serious about my home yoga practice. I’d been using a super thin, cheap mat that was honestly more slippery than helpful. I kept seeing the B Mat pop up in yoga groups, especially the 6mm one, so I figured it was time to give it a try.

First, I searched around online to see what colors were available. I wanted something calming, not too bright. Eventually, I found a nice, deep blue one – perfect!
Unboxing and First Impressions
When it arrived, I ripped open the packaging like a kid on Christmas morning. The mat felt super dense and heavy, way more substantial than my old one. I unrolled it, and it laid pretty flat right away, which was a good sign. No annoying curling at the edges!
It did have a bit of a rubbery smell, but nothing too overpowering. I’d read about that online, so I wasn’t surprised. I just left it unrolled in my spare room for a day or two to air out.
Putting It to the Test
- First practice: I jumped right into a Vinyasa flow. The grip was AMAZING. Seriously, I could hold downward dog without feeling like my hands were going to slide out from under me. That extra thickness (6mm, remember!) made a huge difference on my knees too. No more aching joints during tabletop pose!
- Sweat test: I definitely worked up a sweat, but the mat stayed grippy. No slipping and sliding, even when things got really intense.
- Cleaning: After a few sessions, I wiped it down with a damp cloth. Super easy. I’ve heard you can use a mild soap solution too, but I haven’t needed to do that yet.
- Durablity check: After few months of use, it seems holding up prety well.
The Verdict?
Honestly, this mat is a game-changer. It’s made my home practice so much more enjoyable and stable. I feel way more confident holding poses, and my body definitely thanks me for the extra cushioning. It’s a bit of an investment, price-wise, but it’s worth it. If you’re serious about yoga, I’d say go for it!
