Okay, here’s my experience with the Aeromat yoga mat, told in a casual, blog-style format:

So, I finally caved and bought a new yoga mat. My old one was, let’s just say, well-loved. It had more craters than the moon and was starting to smell a little funky, no matter how much I cleaned it. I’d been eyeing those fancy, expensive mats, but then I stumbled upon the Aeromat. It seemed like a good middle ground – decent reviews, not a crazy price tag.
Unboxing and First Impressions
I ordered it online, and it arrived pretty quickly. Unboxed it, and my first thought was, “Okay, this is definitely thicker than my old one.” It felt pretty squishy, which I was a little worried about. I’m used to a firmer mat for better balance, you know?
Putting It to the Test
I rolled it out for my usual morning yoga routine. First few sun salutations, and I noticed it was definitely grippier than my old mat. No slipping and sliding, which was a major plus. But, like I suspected, the extra cushioning did make some balancing poses a little trickier. I felt a bit wobbly in Warrior III, for example.
- Pros:
- Super grippy.
- Nice and thick, good for my knees.
- Didn’t have that weird, new-mat smell.
- Cons:
- A little too squishy for some poses.
- Took a bit of getting used to.
Cleaning and Durability
I’ve been using the Aeromat for a few weeks now, and I’ve wiped it down after each session with a damp cloth. Seems to be holding up well. No signs of wear and tear yet. I’m also happy to report that it hasn’t started to develop that funky smell my old one had. Bonus!
The Verdict
Overall a pretty good experience!
After several weeks of using this mat, it appears to be durable.

I’ve gotten used to the extra cushioning, and I actually appreciate it now, especially for poses where I’m on my knees or elbows. It’s not perfect, but for the price, I’m pretty happy with it. It’s a solid, comfortable mat that does the job. Would I recommend it? Yeah, I think so, especially if you’re looking for something with a bit more cushioning.
