Okay, so I’ve been wanting to get back into shape, and I figured a home gym would be the way to go. Space is a bit of an issue, so I needed something compact. That’s when I started looking into adjustable dumbbells. I did a bit of digging, read some reviews, and watched some videos. Seemed like the way to go.
After a bit of searching, I decided to go for a set that goes up to 90 pounds. I figured, hey, I used to be pretty strong, so I might as well get something that will last me a while. Plus, the idea of having 5 weight sizes in each dumbbell was really appealing. It is like five dumbbells combined into one, that’s great, especially considering how much space they save!
So, I ordered them. They took a few days to arrive, but when they did, I was pretty excited. I unboxed these bad boys, and man, they felt solid. Nice, sturdy construction, and the grip felt good in my hands, not slippery at all.
The real test, though, was using them. Changing the weight is super easy. You just move this little slider, and click, you’re good to go. It’s way faster than those old-school dumbbells where you have to unscrew the collars and add or remove plates. I started light, just to get a feel for them, and then gradually bumped up the weight.
- I started with some bicep curls. Felt smooth, no wobbling or anything like that.
- Then I moved on to some shoulder presses. Again, super solid, felt secure.
- I even did some squats holding them, and it was way more comfortable than using a barbell.
I’ve been using these dumbbells for a few weeks now, and I gotta say, I’m really impressed. I can do a full-body workout with just these things, and I can really feel the difference. I’m already starting to see some muscle definition coming back, which is awesome. I started at 25 lbs, now I am doing 50 lbs curls like it is nothing. It takes up like no space at all, and I can get a really good workout in without having to drive all the way to the gym.
If you’re thinking about getting some adjustable dumbbells, I definitely recommend them. Especially if you’re dealing with a smaller space. They’re versatile, they’re efficient, and they’re just a really smart way to build some strength at home. My next goal will be the 90 lbs, and I think I can make it with these dumbbells!
