Okay, so I’ve been wanting to get back in shape, and I figured it was time to invest in some home gym equipment. I decided to go with an adjustable dumbbell set, specifically the 200 lbs one. I saw a lot of ads about some factory direct sourcing with low prices, but honestly, I just wanted something reliable and fast.
I started by looking around online, checking out places like Best Buy. There were so many options, it was a little overwhelming. I saw some beginner sets like the Bowflex SelectTech 552, but I knew I wanted something heavier. I also considered the CAP Barbell Olympic Dumbbell Handles, which were cheaper, but I wanted a complete set.
I read somewhere that adjustable dumbbells could be a real game-changer because they pack a bunch of weights into one. That sounded perfect for my small apartment. I didn’t want a ton of different dumbbells lying around. I even found this one set, the Gikpal 5-in-1, but it only went up to 25 pounds, and I needed something much heavier.
I kept searching, comparing prices and reading reviews, and I found a bunch of information of adjustable dumbbells on different websites. They had this one set that was 66 lbs with 16 adjustable plates, but again, not heavy enough for me. I really wanted that 200 lbs set.
After a few days of digging, I finally found a 200 lbs adjustable dumbbell set that seemed pretty solid. I went ahead and ordered it online. It arrived pretty quickly, and I was pumped to try it out.
Setting it up was straightforward, I just added on the weight plates. It felt great to have a set of dumbbells that I can easily change the weights. I started with some lighter weights for warm-ups and then gradually increased it for my actual workout.
Here’s what I did for my first workout:
- Warm-up: Light weight bicep curls and tricep extensions – 3 sets of 10 reps each.
- Chest: I increased the weights, and did bench presses and incline dumbbell presses – 3 sets of 8 reps each.
- Back: Bent-over rows and dumbbell pullovers – 3 sets of 8 reps each.
- Shoulders: Overhead presses and lateral raises – 3 sets of 10 reps each.
- Legs: Dumbbell squats and lunges – 3 sets of 12 reps each.
It felt amazing to get a full-body workout with just this one set of dumbbells. I’m really happy with my purchase. It saves space, it’s versatile, and I can slowly increase the weight as I get stronger. Getting this adjustable dumbbell set was definitely the right move for me.
