Alright, let me tell you about my little adventure with this natural fitness yoga mat I got. I’ve been meaning to get back into yoga, you know, for the flexibility and all that zen stuff.
So, I decided to grab one of those eco-friendly mats, thinking it would be all good for the environment and maybe smell less like chemicals. I went for a natural rubber one, figured it was the way to go.
First off, when this thing arrived, it was kinda heavy. Not like those flimsy foam ones, this had some real heft to it. Unrolling it, the first thing I noticed was the grip. Man, this thing stuck to the floor like glue. No slipping and sliding, which was a huge plus during those downward dogs.
The texture was interesting too, kind of rough at first, but in a good way. Like it was going to last a while and not wear out after a few sessions. It did have a bit of a rubbery smell, but nothing too overpowering. They said it would fade, and it did after a couple of days airing out.
- Started using it for my daily practice, and I gotta say, it’s been pretty solid.
- My hands and feet don’t slip, even when I get a bit sweaty.
- It provides decent cushioning for the knees and joints too, which is nice for those longer holds.
I have cleaned it a few times, just a simple wipe down with a damp cloth and some mild soap. Seems to be holding up well, no signs of wear and tear yet.
Honestly, the only real downside I can think of is the weight. It’s not the easiest thing to lug around if you’re going to classes. But, I mostly practice at home, so it’s not a huge deal for me.
All in all, I’m pretty happy with this natural yoga mat. It’s doing its job, helping me get my yoga on without any fuss. If you’re looking for something sturdy, grippy, and a bit more eco-conscious, I’d say give one of these a try. It’s been a good investment for my practice, at least that is what I think.
