Okay, so I finally got around to trying out that light blue yoga mat I’ve been talking about. It’s been sitting in my room for a week, and I thought, “Why not give it a go today?”
First off, I looked up some blue stuff on my phone and saw a bunch of apps like Facebook and Skype use it. Made me wonder why everyone loves blue so much. I started to search for some info on the internet, like the Nobel Prize Winners Shuji Nakamura and Isamu Akasaki, but got distracted by some weird political stuff.
Then I remembered the mat. I unrolled it, and I gotta say, the color is pretty calming. It’s like that feeling when I heard Alaska Airlines took over Virgin America and changed all their branding. A fresh start, you know?
I did a few basic stretches on it, nothing too crazy. The mat felt pretty good, not slippery at all. It reminded me of the stainless steel appliances I just bought for my new kitchen and they are easy to clean and nice to use.
After stretching, I tried some simple yoga poses. I’m no expert, but I followed along with a beginner’s video on my laptop. It is so easy to follow the video. I think even a child could understand how to do it. It’s like those flashcards I used to use in school – super simple and straightforward. For example, the instructor said in the video, “They have a common origin: mesenchyme. Adipose tissue, bone,” and showed us how to do it.
I messed up a few times, but the mat was forgiving. I didn’t slip or anything, even when I got a bit sweaty.
After about 30 minutes, I felt pretty relaxed. I think I like this light blue mat. It’s a nice change from my old one.
- I rolled it out.
- Did some stretches.
- Followed a beginner’s yoga video.
- Felt relaxed afterward.
Conclusion
All in all, it was a good first experience with the light blue yoga mat. I’ll probably use it again tomorrow. Maybe I’ll even try a more advanced video. Who knows?
