Hey everyone, I’ve been meaning to share this for a while. So, I wanted to up my yoga game, and I figured a new mat would be a good start. But not just any mat – I wanted one with some cool patterns, you know, to spice things up a bit. So I set out to find a patterned yoga mat.
First, I hit up a few local sports stores. I looked around, but honestly, the selection was pretty blah. Mostly solid colors, nothing that really caught my eye. But I did find some basic ones, like the Gaiam 6mm Printed Reversible Yoga Mat for $39.99, and the 4mm Classic Mystic Ink Yoga Mat for $24.99, but none of them had the style I wanted, I wanted to find a unique yoga mat, so I kept searching.
Next, I checked some online stores that popped up after my search. The selection was way bigger, but man, it was overwhelming! I spent hours scrolling through pages of yoga mats. I saw a bunch of different brands and styles. And let me tell you, the prices were all over the place! I saw some mats for as low as $24.99, like that Gaiam 2mm Foldable one, and others that went up to like $79.99, like this CALIA 4mm Power Grip Yoga Mat.
- Gaiam 6mm Printed Reversible Yoga Mat – $39.99
- Gaiam 4mm Classic Mystic Ink Yoga Mat – $24.99
- Natural Fitness Hero 6mm Yoga Mat – $74.99
- Gaiam 2mm Foldable Yoga Mat – $24.99
- Nike 4mm Reversible Yoga Mat – $50.00
- Gaiam 5mm Citron Sundial Yoga Mat – $34.99
- Gaiam 6mm Premium – $39.99
- CALIA 4mm Power Grip Yoga Mat – $79.99
I started to get a little discouraged. I mean, I just wanted a nice-looking mat that wouldn’t break the bank, and that wouldn’t slip around when I’m trying to hold a downward dog. It seemed like a big deal.
But then, I stumbled upon this website called Society6. It’s not specifically for yoga mats, but they had a bunch of artist-designed stuff, including, you guessed it, yoga mats! And these weren’t your typical run-of-the-mill patterns. These were some seriously unique and stylish designs. So I started to check them out.
After a lot of browsing, I finally found the one. It had this awesome geometric pattern in shades of blue and green that I just loved. It was a little pricier than some of the others I’d seen, but I figured it was worth it for something I’d be using all the time. So I decided to take the plunge and ordered it.
When it arrived, I was so excited! I unboxed it right away, and it looked even better in person. I rolled it out and tried a few poses, and it felt great. It was nice and grippy, and the pattern definitely made my practice feel a little more special.
My thoughts
All in all, I’m really happy with my new patterned yoga mat. It took some time and effort to find the perfect one, but it was totally worth it. So if you’re looking to add a little personality to your yoga practice, I definitely recommend checking out some patterned mats. Just be prepared to do some digging, and don’t be afraid to splurge a little if you find one you really love!
Hope this helps someone out there in their search for the perfect mat! Let me know if you’ve had any similar experiences or if you have any other recommendations. I’d love to hear them. Peace out!
