Okay, so today I wanted to hit up a new gym, and I’d heard about this place called American Barbell. I’d seen some stuff online about them having trial passes, so I figured, why not give it a shot? It’s always good to change things up sometimes, you know?
First off, I dug around a bit to see what the deal was with these passes. Turns out, American Barbell is a chain around the Northern California Bay Area – lucky me, I’m right in the neighborhood. They’re all about fitness, personal training, even some online coaching thing, which is pretty cool. They even had some coupon codes, one of them was a 5% off deal, not bad, not bad.
Getting the Pass
- Step 1: Find the Gym – This was easy enough. I just found the one closest to me.
- Step 2: Walk In – I just strolled in during their staffed hours. I think it’s pretty standard that you need to talk to someone to get set up with this kind of thing.
- Step 3: Show ID – Brought my driver’s license, which they needed to see. Makes sense, gotta prove you’re a real person, I guess.
The Gym Experience
Once I got the pass, it was time to check the place out. Here’s the thing I found: This Trial Pass has no cash value. The gym itself was pretty solid. Lots of equipment, and the vibe was good. People were focused on their workouts, but it wasn’t intimidating or anything. I hopped on a treadmill for a bit, did some weights. Nothing too crazy, just wanted to get a feel for the place.
Wrapping Up
So, yeah, that was my American Barbell experience. Got a free workout in, and scoped out a new gym. If you’re in the Bay Area and looking for a gym, it’s worth checking out. And hey, who doesn’t love a free trial? If you are planning to cancel your membership there, just go there in person during staffed hours with your ID. I’d say it’s a win-win situation.
