Alright, let’s talk about my recent workout routine. I’ve been hitting the gym pretty regularly, trying to get in shape and build some muscle. I wanted to share my experience with these 30 lb rubber hex dumbbells I’ve been using.
So, I started my journey into the world of weights a while back, but I’m still a bit of a rookie. I wanted to increase my strength, so I decided to get some dumbbells. After reading a bit, I figured that 30 pounds would be a good weight to start with since I wasn’t sure what my limits are. I don’t want to push myself too hard and get hurt. I chose this dumbbell set because I saw that it came in a pair, and they have these straight stainless steel handles, which seemed pretty cool.
When I started, I tried to lift them, and man, they were heavier than I expected! But I could still manage them, so I kept at it. I tried to do about 12 to 15 reps of each exercise, just like the articles I read suggested. At first, I tried to do a whole bunch of different exercises – curls, rows, deadlifts, you name it. But I quickly realized that was a bit too ambitious.
Here’s what I did:
- Bicep Curls: Holding a dumbbell in each hand, I stood with my feet shoulder-width apart and let my arms hang down. I kept my elbows close to my sides and curled the weights up towards my shoulders.
- Shoulder Presses: I held the dumbbells at shoulder height with my palms facing forward. I pushed them up above my head until my arms were straight, then slowly lowered them back down.
- Rows: This one was a bit trickier. I placed one knee and hand on a bench and held a dumbbell in the other hand, letting it hang down. I pulled the weight up towards my chest, keeping my back straight.
I made sure to keep a good grip on the dumbbells. I didn’t want these things slipping out of my hands! I don’t have gloves, so I just made sure my hands were dry. I also tried not to lock my elbows or knees when I was lifting – that’s what all the guides say, anyway. The hexagonal shape of the weights is pretty neat. They don’t roll around when I put them down, which is a big plus. The rubber coating is also nice because it doesn’t make a ton of noise, and it feels pretty durable.
After a few weeks, I started to feel a difference. I could lift the weights a bit easier, and I even managed to increase the number of reps for some exercises. I’m still working on it, but I’m feeling pretty good about my progress.
So yeah, that’s my experience with these 30 lb rubber hex dumbbells. They’re a solid piece of equipment, and they’ve definitely helped me on my fitness journey. I don’t know if I’ll need to buy bigger dumbbells in the future, but maybe some day I’ll be able to work with them too.
It isn’t much but it’s an honest living.
