This thing, elliptical machine or stationary bike, which one better? My old bones can’t tell much difference. But people keep asking, so I try to figure it out.
Elliptical Machine
This elliptical machine, it’s like walking on air. You know, that one with the handles and foot pedals. You stand on it and move your legs, like walking but no hitting the ground. It’s easy on the knees, I tell ya. They say it good for burning fat, good for heart.
- Easy on joints, that’s what they say.
- You use arms and legs, whole body moving.
- Burn fat, good for losing weight if you need that.
But this thing, it takes up space. Big machine, you need a corner for it. And it can be expensive. I saw the price tag, I almost fainted. Not for everyone, I say.
And some folks, they want real hard exercise. Like running a marathon or lifting heavy things. This elliptical, it’s not for that. It’s more like a gentle walk, you know? Good for old folks like me, maybe not for the young strong ones.
If you use it for like, 30 minutes, they say that’s good. Then you can do more if you get stronger. It’s all about burning those calories, they say. Whatever those are.
Stationary Bike
Then there’s the stationary bike. Like a regular bike but it don’t go anywhere. You just sit and pedal. It’s simple, really. I used to ride a bike all the time when I was a girl. Not these fancy ones, just a regular bike to go to the market.
- Good for legs, makes them strong.
- You can sit, that’s a plus for some people.
- Not as expensive as that elliptical thing, maybe.
But this bike, you only use your legs. Your arms, they just sit there. And some people, they say it’s boring. Just pedaling and pedaling, going nowhere. I guess it can be, if you ain’t got a good view.
This bike is smaller though. Easier to fit in a room. And the price, it’s more friendly to your wallet. Still, make sure you get a good one. Don’t want it breaking down on you. Those cheap ones, they’re no good.
Elliptical Bike Workout
Now, I hear some folks talking about this “elliptical bike workout“. I think it is just another name for that elliptical machine workout. Using that elliptical, moving your legs and arms. I guess it’s a workout for your whole body. You move like you’re walking, but it’s more work, I think. People say it’s good for you.
They say you can burn a lot of that… what’s it called? Calories? Yeah, calories. Using that machine for exercise. If you want to lose some weight, maybe this is a good way. But you gotta do it regular, you know. Not just once in a blue moon.
Which One is Better?
So, elliptical machine or stationary bike? Which one is better? Well, it depends, I guess. What you want, what you need. Both good for exercise, that’s for sure.
If your knees are bad, maybe the elliptical is better. If you want to sit, then the bike. If you have money to burn, get the elliptical. If you want something cheaper, get the bike.
Me? I just walk. Walk to the neighbor’s, walk to the garden. It’s free, and it’s good for you. But if you want a machine, you choose. Just make sure you use it! Don’t let it sit there and collect dust. That’s a waste, I tell ya!
I see the young people these days, always on their phones, never moving. No wonder they need these machines! In my day, we worked hard, we walked everywhere. We didn’t need no fancy machines to stay fit.
But times are different, I guess. If these machines help people get moving, then that’s good. Just don’t forget to go outside sometimes, get some fresh air. That’s the best exercise, I say!
If you want a really intense workout, maybe these machines ain’t it. Maybe you need to run or lift heavy things. But for regular folks, just wanting to stay healthy, they’re probably fine.
This elliptical machine, it’s like a modern marvel, I suppose. Never seen anything like it when I was young. We had bikes, and we had our legs. That’s all we needed. But these new things, they can be helpful, I reckon.
I still think walking is best. But if you like these machines then it is good. Just remember what that old lady told you. Use it or lose it! Don’t let that machine go to waste. And if you don’t use it, you will become a lazy one for sure! These are just some thoughts. You do what you think is best.
