This here thing, cloth yoga mats, ain’t just for them fancy folks in the city. My old bones ain’t what they used to be, but I still like to stretch and bend a bit. And these mats, well, they help a body out.
Now, you got all kinds of these mats. Some thick, some thin, like pancakes! And colors? Every color you can think of, just like the quilts my mama used to make. I seen blue ones, red ones, even them purple ones. It’s a real rainbow out there.
They say these mats got some kind of cell thing in ’em. Don’t know what that is. Sounds like somethin’ they learn in them fancy schools. All I know is some are squishy, some are firm. Just gotta find one that feels right for your own self.
Most of these mats are made of some stuff called “PVC” which is a shorter version of “Polyvinyl Chloride” and others call it “vinyl”. I reckon that’s just some fancy word for plastic. They say it lasts a long time, that PVC stuff. Maybe longer than me!
But you know what I like? Them cloth yoga mats. They is made from cotton. I think it’s called organic or something like that. They call it eco-friendly. I guess they care about the nature now. And that’s good, yeah? We need to take care of this old earth.
These cotton yoga mats, they soak up your sweat good, and they don’t hold the bad smells for long if you wash it in time. So you don’t gotta worry ’bout stinkin’ up the place when you’re doin’ your stretches. And they’re soft, like a baby’s blanket. Good for these old joints of mine.
- Cotton mats are good for sweat.
- Cotton mats are soft.
- Cotton mats are easy to clean.
Now, they do say these cotton ones don’t last as long as them plastic ones. But who needs somethin’ that lasts forever? Everything wears out eventually. Just like me!
You want a mat that won’t slip and slide all over the place. You could hurt yourself! Gotta have that… what do they call it? Grip. Yeah, grip. Like holdin’ onto a slippery fish. You need a good grip.
And you want somethin’ that ain’t gonna fall apart after a few uses. That’s just throwin’ your money away. So you gotta find one that’s tough, you know? Like an old work boot. It’s gotta last.
Cloth yoga mats can be pretty tough, though. If you take care of it. You know how to take care of things, they last longer. Just like your clothes. You wash them, fold them, they stay nice.
Some folks, they worry ’bout the earth. They don’t want to use nothin’ that’s gonna hurt it. That’s a good thing. We only got one earth. Like I said, gotta take care of it. These cloth mats, they say they’re better for the earth. ‘Cause they’re made from cotton, and that comes from plants. Not some factory makin’ smoke and stink.
But you gotta find what’s right for you. Maybe you like them plastic ones better. That’s alright. Everybody’s different. Like different kinds of seeds. You plant what grows best in your own garden.
Just remember to find a mat that’s good for your body. One that’s comfy and won’t let you slip. And if you care ’bout the earth, maybe try one of them cloth yoga mats. They ain’t so bad. Even an old gal like me can use ’em.
When you pick a yoga mat, you gotta think ’bout what you need. You sweat a lot? Get one that can handle that. Cotton’s good for that. You got bad knees? Get a thicker one. Cushion them bones.
- Thick mats are good for bad knees.
- Cloth yoga mats are good for sweat.
- Make sure your mat has good grip.
And don’t be afraid to ask for help. Them young folks at the store, they know all about these things. They can point you in the right direction. Just tell ’em what you need, and they’ll help you out. Don’t be shy now.
So, there you have it. That’s all I know about them cloth yoga mats. It ain’t much, but it’s honest. Just like everything else I do. Hope it helps you some. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I think I’ll go do some stretchin’. My back’s been actin’ up again. These old bones need a little tendin’ to.
Just remember, find a mat you like, and use it! Don’t just let it sit there collectin’ dust. That ain’t good for nobody. Get out there and move your body. It’s the best thing you can do for yourself, no matter how old you are. And if you want a mat that’s soft and good for the earth, try them cloth yoga mats. You might just like ’em.
