Okay, so I’ve been messing around with piercings for a while now, and I recently got it into my head that I wanted to try out an 8-gauge barbell. I thought it’d be cool to share my experience, you know, just in case anyone else is thinking about doing the same thing.
First off, I started by looking around online, not really knowing what I was doing. I just typed “8 gauge barbell” into the search bar and looked at all the pages of stuff that popped up. There was a lot of jewelry out there, but it took me a while to figure out what I actually needed. I was comparing sizes, reading product descriptions, and trying to make sense of all the options.
Then, I measured some of my existing barbells. It sounds funny, but I used a ruler with millimeters on it. I grabbed one of my old studs that fit comfortably and compared it to the ruler markings. I did this a few times with different pieces, just to get a better sense of what an 8 gauge actually looked like in real life. It’s kinda tricky because you can’t just eyeball it, you know?
After that, I started thinking about the material. I read somewhere that barbells are made of different stuff, depending on where you wear it and how much it can handle. This got me down another path of trying to figure out what material would be best for me. I don’t want some cheap junk that’s gonna irritate my skin or break on me. I decided to play it safe and went for the surgical steel.
Next, I started to choose a barbell type. There are a lot of options, and it depends on what kind of weightlifting you’re into. I’m not a pro or anything, so I went for a basic one that seemed like it would work for me. Then, I had to decide the length of the barbell. I didn’t want something too short that it would pinch, or too long that it would snag on everything.
Once I finally picked out the one I wanted, I bought it. When it arrived, I made sure everything was clean before I tried it on. I sterilized the barbell, cleaned the piercing area really well, and put on some gloves. I slowly switched out my old jewelry for the new 8-gauge barbell. It was a bit of a process, and it took some patience. After that, I put the new barbell in place. I made sure it was secure and not too tight.
So, after all that, I finally got the 8-gauge barbell in. It felt a little heavier than I was used to, but not uncomfortable. It definitely looks different, and I’m still getting used to the new size. I’ve been checking it regularly to make sure there’s no irritation or problems. Overall, it was a bit of a journey to get here, but I’m happy with how it turned out. It’s a cool little change, and I learned a lot along the way.
