Okay, so I’ve been wanting to get back in shape, and figured it’s time to get some weights for home. But man, a whole rack of dumbbells? That takes up a ton of space, and my apartment’s not exactly a mansion.
Then I stumbled upon these adjustable dumbbells. The idea is pretty cool – one set of weights that can change to different weights. They go up to 40kg, which should be plenty for me, at least for now. So, I went ahead and ordered a pair.
Getting Started
When they arrived, the first thing I did was try to figure out how they work. It’s a bit tricky at first because there is a longer handle and a locking mechanism, but once you get the hang of it, it’s pretty simple. You just twist the handle, choose your weight, and lock it in. I started light, just 10kg, to get a feel for them.
Workout Routine
- Warm-up: I did some light cardio for about 5 minutes, just to get the blood flowing. Jumping jacks, high knees, the usual.
- Squats: With the dumbbells set to 20kg, I did 3 sets of 10 squats. These adjustable ones actually feel pretty good for squats because they let you keep your back straight.
- Bicep Curls: Lowered the weight to 15kg and did 3 sets of 12 curls on each arm. The grip felt a little weird at first since these aren’t like regular dumbbells, but I got used to it.
- Shoulder Press: Kept it at 15kg and did 3 sets of 10 presses. I could feel it in my shoulders for sure, which is what I was aiming for.
- Cool-down: Finished up with some stretching, holding each stretch for about 30 seconds. Felt good to loosen up those muscles.
My Thoughts
Honestly, these adjustable dumbbells are a game-changer. Yeah, they feel a bit different than the regular ones at the gym, but I actually like that I can change the weight so easily. It’s like having a whole set of weights without needing all that space. Plus, being able to do different exercises with different weights in one session is super convenient.
I’m definitely going to keep using these. They fit perfectly into my routine, and I’m already feeling stronger. If you’re thinking about getting some weights for home workouts, I’d say give these a shot. They’re practical, they work great, and they don’t take up your whole living room. For women, you can choose 5, 10, 15, and 20 lb pairs. For men, you can choose 10, 20, and 35 lb pairs. Anyway, these adjustable dumbbells are worth checking out.
